Douglas Jay Herman lost his year-long battle with cancer on June 7, 2020 at the Providence Hospice Care Center in Everett.
Doug was born in Monroe, Washington on January 30, 1961 to Lorraine and Myron Herman. Doug was the third of four boys where he grew up and worked in Monroe until his adventure to Alaska. There he met his first wife and had his eldest son, Jeromy. They soon parted and Doug shared in raising his son.
In 1992 Doug met Colleen Sarp and married on May 18, 1996. They had two children, Colin and Shaylyn. Colin was born on June 19th, 1997 and Shaylyn on July 29th, 1999. Unfortunately, Colleen then became ill and passed at the University of Washington Hospital on October 14, 2001 with Doug by her side. Doug continued raising their two children until they were adults.
Doug was a laborer at the fishing processors in Alaska for a short time until returning to Everett, Washington to remain until his passing. He learned the locksmith business quickly and had a very successful business for 30 years. He also enjoyed helping neighbors, friends and family with lawn and yard work in his spare time.
Most recently Doug was with Lisa Franseen since 2009. Lisa loved Doug and cared for him; she was there with Doug during the last days of his life.
Doug loved golfing, fishing, motorcycle riding, camping with his kids and girlfriend, playing his drums in the church band and all things family.
Doug is survived by his parents, Lorraine and Myron; His brothers, Daniel, David, and Donn; Doug’s children, Jeromy, Colin and Shaylyn; Finally, Doug’s girlfriend, Lisa.
The family would like to invite anyone who was touched by Doug to a service on July 18, 2020 at 2 PM at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church; 9320 Meadow Way, Everett 98208.
