Edwin R. “Ed” Waldal of Edmonds was the eldest son of Fanny and Edwin W. Waldal. Born in Seattle during March 1935 and passed away in June 2022. He graduated from Ballard High School, class of 1953, was a graduate of Everett Junior College and attended Arswald business school. He also served in the Army Reserves.
Ed was the office manager for his father’s business, E W Waldal Painting of Seattle, for over twenty years.
He was self-employed after that in his own business, Waldal Window Washing, until he retired.
He liked playing on the “Old Timer’s Hockey Team,” going to the Totem games, traveling, reading U.S. history, music, John Wayne movies, and the great outdoors. Ed enjoyed riding his motorcycle on the back roads, and going to his parents’ family cabin on Whidbey Island.
He is survived by the love of his life, Deanna, of 61 years. The two had three sons, Mark (Dawn) Bruce (Donna), Scott (Debbie); grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a niece, several nephews, and a brother David. He was preceded in death by his brother, Earl.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to a charity of your choice or First Lutheran Church of Richmond Beach in Shoreline.
