Louise was born in Manson, Washington, on October 17, 1926, to William and Frances (Miller) Green, the middle child in a family of seven children. When she was a teen, the family moved to Renton. Her father passed away, and her mother had to go to work to support the family. Louise left school to care for her younger siblings. Later she worked as a waitress in Snohomish, and younger sister Annetta shared an apartment with her.
In January 1960, Louise married Ray Hoefer. Louise had a daughter Allison and Ray had four children, Michael, Ted, Dene, and Tim. Ray's children came to live with the in their home in Lake Stevens, and Louise became mother to five children, 7 years old and younger. Later the family moved to a home on 20th Street in Lake Stevens. The family was baptized at Ebenezer Lutheran, where Ray and Louise had been married by Pastor Anderson.
As the children grew, Louise was a full time homemaker and mother. Ray passed away in 1977, and she continued to live in their home. Later she worked as a custodian at Ebenezer for a time, as well as volunteering there. Louise loved the beauty of nature and at home, enjoyed reading, music, writing poetry, and working on jigsaw and crossword puzzles. In the last decade, her health declined, and she spent most of her time at home. When she was not able to live alone, she lived for a time in Enumclaw with Dan and Allison before living her last year in a convalescent center. She died October 14th, a few days before her 86th birthday.
Louise is survived by her family: sons Michael (Nancy), Ted, Tim (Elvia) and daughter Allison (Dan); 6 grandchildren Bryce, Christine, Jason, Sarah (Mark), Rebekah, and Elizabeth; great-granddaughter Bailey; sisters Anita and Annetta; and other extended family.
