

Erin was born June 12th 1956 in Columbus, Ohio to Bruce and Joyce Jones. She had one older sister and one older brother. She was later joined by two younger brothers. When she was still in elementary school her family made the trek from Ohio to Washington State.
They put down roots and Erin graduated from Edmonds High School in 1974. Right after she graduated, she went to college at the Evergreen State College in Olympia. While at College she met her future husband, Ronald McNeill. They were married in August, 1976. Erin graduated from Evergreen with a Bachelor of Arts. During the first years of their marriage, Erin and Ron enjoyed their cat Tarzan of the Drapes who got his name because of his love for jumping on the drapes and then swinging back and forth.
After college Erin and Ron opened a restaurant in Seattle for a short while named Spatz. Then on May 22nd, 1980 they had their first daughter Hally. Erin’s parents were gracious enough to allow Erin and Ron to live with them while they had their baby daughter and were working long hours at their restaurant. Despite all their efforts, it was during this time they made the decision to sell the restaurant. Shortly after, they rented a house from Erin’s father in Edmonds. On August 13th, 1984 their second daughter Chelsea was born. The small family enjoyed yearly camping trips and watching movies and TV shows. Then on May 17th, 1986 the family was joined by a son named Timothy.
Erin took a job with the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS). It was challenging work but Erin was really making a difference in the lives of many. She was well liked by all her co-workers. Eventually, Erin and Ron also fostered several children.
Erin became a grandmother in 2002 and ultimately had 3 grandchildren from Hally and her husband Adam. Erin retired in 2004 and spent some time living in Conconully, WA. There she loved being outdoors fishing, swimming in the many lakes, and having bonfires. She also spent some time living in Westport where she enjoyed driving to the ocean and watching the waves.
Erin is proceeded in death by her mother Joyce Jones, her father Bruce Jones, her sister Heather Bergstedt and her oldest grandson Christopher Thorp. She is survived by her two daughters Hally Thorp (son in law Adam) and Chelsea McNeill and her son Timothy McNeill (Daughter in law Erica), her step grandson Ryan and her two grandsons Matthew and Jonathan.
She was a kind soul and always had a heart for those in need. She will be greatly missed by all her knew her.
