Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister
Fran was a lifelong resident of Everett and a proud graduate of Everett High School. She was best known for her work as a beautician and the owner of Colby Avenue Styling Salon for many years.
Fran had an outstanding sense of humor. Family and friends often referred to her as “Lucy”. As a child athlete, Fran “Crazy Legs” could out-race most boys and girls. She enjoyed baseball and was a power hitter in the sandlot games. Some knew her as “Frankie” at the powderpuff drag strip races where she frequently stretched the speed limits.
Her greatest gift was helping others, a salient part of her personality. She served as a volunteer for Providence Hospital Guild and as a consultant to plastic surgery burn victims. In addition, she enjoyed biking, cooking, gardening, ballroom dancing, golfing, traveling and of course, time with family and friends. Fran and Dale recently celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary. Together they loved to work and play, as well as help their family and friends.
Fran is survived by her husband, Dale Peters; daughters, Martie Colbert (Jim) and Becky Whitefield (Brandon); brother, Clyde Nordgren (Michele); and recently discovered half-sister, Trina Tolar. Fran’s grandchildren are Brittany, Brianna, Jack, Joe, and Jake; great-grandchildren Remi, Aspen, Oakley and Lucas; nephews Lars and Kyle (Lucy, Vega and Olie). She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Marjorie Nordgren, and a husband, Tony Whitefield.
Memorials may be made to Everett Gospel Mission, Providence Hospice of Snohomish County, or Everett Animal Shelter.
Following a private family graveside service, all are welcome to her Celebration of Life on Thursday, September 5, from 3-7pm at the Everett VFW 2711 Oaks Ave., Everett, WA.
