George was born on May 15, 1953, in Missouri, to Woodrow and Mary Kennedy. With the heart of a traveler from a young age, George explored the vast landscapes of the United States before settling in Washington in 1974. There, he found not only a place to call home, but also a community he would cherish for decades. For 34 years, George lived in his beloved home in Granite Falls, where he built a life rooted in love, nature, and hard work.
Above all else, George’s first love was his family. A proud father to Kally, Ellie, Wolfe, and Wayne and a grandfather to six—with one more grandchild on the way—he treasured every moment spent with them. Whether it was playing in the yard, sharing stories, or embarking on small adventures, George’s grandchildren were the light of his life, and his presence in theirs will forever be felt.
George had a deep love for the outdoors. He was particularly drawn to the awe-inspiring Ice Caves in Granite Falls and often found peace and joy in hiking the trails nearby. In quieter moments, he could be found tinkering in his garage, fixing things just for the joy of it, or cruising scenic roads on his motorcycle.
Professionally, George took immense pride in his work as a concrete truck driver, especially the 20 years he spent with Centrecon. He was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and dedication to his craft—values he carried with him throughout life.
George was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 30 years, Corrie Kennedy, and his sister, Linda Kennedy. Though his passing leaves a deep void, his legacy lives on in the love he gave, the life he led, and the memories he created with those who knew and loved him.
He will be remembered always for his warm heart, generous spirit, and the quiet strength he brought to every corner of his life.
In honor of his memory, the family encourages loved ones to spend a day outside, take a ride through the mountains, or share a story with your loved ones —just as George would have loved.
