Georgia Elizabeth Botten Kosbab passed away quietly on Sunday November 2, 2025, in Snohomish with family members by her side. Georgia was born in Silvana, Washington on March 23, 1937. She was the youngest of two daughters of Einer and Inga Botten.
Georgia was raised in Everett, Washington, baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and carried on that faith with her children. She attended Everett High School, graduating in 1955. She was a member of the Seagull Drill Team, Pep Committee, along with activities throughout her High School years. She was married to Neil Kosbab in 1957, and although they later divorced, she was blessed with a son and three daughters, raised in Snohomish. Raising four children as a single mom was her greatest achievement in life and she took great pride in it. Georgia always put others before herself and she did it without hesitation.
Most of Georgia’s career was working as a lab technician and phlebotomist at Providence Hospital in Everett. Georgia was well like by her coworkers; she was considered to be one of the best by her peers. She retired in 1999.
Georgia will be fondly remembered for her infectious laugh, generosity, and hospitality. Georgia loved spending time with her family and friends. She had a large extended family which included not just her immediate family and grandchildren, but also her children and grandchildren’s friends, who often referred to her as their second mom or grandmother. Being a grandmother to her six grandchildren was another one of Georgia’s greatest joys in life. Whether it was babysitting, attending sporting events, or dropping her grandkids off at school, visits with Grandma Georgia were always treasured moments that will live on with her grandchildren.
Georgia could often be found in the center of a large group of people who loved her, people always cherished her company. She especially loved the family’s annual summer trek to Lake Chelan, which grew over the years (and will continue in the future), often with more than 50 people filling the resort with laughter and love.
Georgia is survived by her son Mark Kosbab, and daughters Annelynn Averill, Susan Burke-Crum, and Laura Bergman; grandchildren Nicholas Burke, Ryan Burke, Allie Bergman, Austin Averill, Noah Bergman and Ellie Kosbab; and great-grandchildren Atticus Halverson, Arthur Burke and Abram Burke. She is also survived by her sister Anne Nestby, niece Lynn Olson
Georgia was laid to rest in a private family burial on Friday, November 14, 2025, in at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park in Everett. She will be missed deeply by family and friends but will always live on in our hearts and memories.
