Helen Lucille Knavel, 108, formerly of Everett, WA was born on January 24, 1911 in Aplington, Iowa and passed away on December 9, 2019 in Shoreline, Washington. Helen was the fifth of eight children born to her parents William and Harnke Harken outside of Aplington Iowa. In 1936, she married George Knavel and moved to Waterloo Iowa. In 1943, they decided to move west, settled in Everett Washington and started a family which they had two sons. Gary was born in October of 1944 and Bill of July of 1947. In 1950, they decided to buy a house in Lake Stevens. Then suddenly in 1953, her husband passed away and Helen went to work for Scott Paper to take care of her family. In October of 1965, she lost her oldest in a military accident . Helen last years were spent with living with her son Bill in Shoreline Washington. She is survived by her son, Bill; one, grandson Gary Dean Knavel and two great grandsons Josh and Jered Knavel.
Visitation will be Monday, December 16th from 2pm-5pm at Evergreen Funeral Home, Everett WA.
