Isabella Maria Humphries, affectionately known as Bella, Isa or Izzy, of Everett, Washington, passed away at the young age of 22 on August 17, 2024. Born in Everett on November 6, 2001, to David and Lori Humphries. Isabella was a bright light in the lives of all who knew her. Growing up alongside her older brother, Curtis Thornsberry, and her younger siblings, Ian and Olivia Humphries, she embraced life with a vibrant spirit that touched everyone she met.
Isabella graduated from Cascade High School in 2020. She then went on and proudly graduated from the University of Washington Bothell in June 2023 with her Baccalaureate Degree in Public Health. At the time of her death, Isabella was finishing up necessary prerequisites for Medical School with a dream to be a physician one day. During this time, Isabella was also working full time for HealthPoint where she was a Patient Care Coordinator and Advocate. Isabella took great pride in her work, giving her all, to help underserved members of our community by aligning them with healthcare services and housing. She also worked with clients in regard to food insecurity and refugee services. Isabella’s work provided her joy and purpose and she loved her HealthPoint family.
Isabella’s hobbies were as diverse as they were heartfelt. An avid reader, a skilled musician, a baker, and a crocheter, she found beauty in many forms of expression. Car rides with her little sister, Olivia, enjoying Dutch Bros, music, singing and conversation. More than anything, Isabella loved spending time with her friends and family, bringing joy and laughter into their lives.
Isabella led with her heart; arms wide open, never guarded. Isabella’s enormous heart and radiant smile were her trademarks, earning her the love and admiration of her coworkers, classmates and all who knew her. Her volunteer work in the community was a testament to her selfless nature and her desire to make this world a better place. She volunteered every year for the community food drive, collecting donations, and delivering Christmas meals and gifts to needy families in our community.
Sadly, Isabella’s journey was cut short, and she is now reunited with her paternal grandparents, Maria Martinez and Doyle Watson, her paternal Aunt Carmen Olinger, and all of her great grandparents who predeceased her. Her spirit however, lives on in the hearts of those she left behind. Isabella is deeply missed by her parents, David and Lori Humphries, her siblings: Curtis, Ian and Oliva, her maternal grandparents, Lloyd and LaDonna Thornsberry; and a host of extended family members and friends who were truly blessed to know her.
A celebration of Isabella’s life will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 1:00 pm at The Northshore Christian Church, 5700 23rd Drive West, Everett, Washington 98203. The service will be led by Pastor Damian Thompson and a variety of speakers. A reception will immediately follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly request that donations be made to The Fred Hutch Cancer Center where Isabella’s mom, Lori, is currently undergoing treatment. Isabella was her fiercest advocate and hoped to one day help find the cure for cancer.
Isabella’s life, though brief, was a beacon of love, joy, and kindness. She will forever be remembered for her radiant spirit and the overwhelming positive impact she had on every one she met. Until we see you again our sweet girl, we will do our best to figure out how to enjoy the rest of this remarkable thing called life without you. We love you to the moon and back.
