Jackie is my cousin. We were born only a few months apart. She was such a bright soul; sometimes mischievous, sometimes silly, but always bright. I’m so thankful to have had my summers on her end of the country so that I could spend time with her. She would call me and my brother as one name asking for “Alex and Sharice” (sharif).  The biggest thing that stands out to me after Jackie’s joyfulness, laughter and smile and our summers together is the dedication from Aunt Lisa, Uncle Clay, and Ben. There is no family that would have been better for Jackie. Aunt Lisa, I can’t say enough about her patience and love- the way she gave Jackie every opportunity and always made the best choices for her. She showed Jackie Jesus, who Jackie loved so much. Uncle Clay, has a childlike heart that is perfect for loving Jackie exactly the way she needed. And Ben, who is so gentle and kind  and is the best brother. I love you so much Jackie!

Sweet Jackie Sue was an amazing young lady. She taught me about love, joy, faith, and keeping a happy heart, even when you are in pain. She always had a smile for me and would associate me with 'laughing hard.' I have sweet memories of my girls and Jackie, together at school, 'helping' their moms set up their classrooms for the year. I could hear her in her mother's  classroom laughing about all kinds of things. I cared for Jackie for several years. One of my favorite memories was when she was still walking with some assistance. We were trying to get into the house, and she couldn't stop laughing. We were on the lawn in front of her house when I told her she better not fall down, and yes, you guessed it, Jackie fell down on top of me on the grass. We were both in summer dresses and rolling in the grass laughing. We finally got up and made it into the house still giggling. Jackie will be missed by so many on this earth, but she is with Jesus. No more pain. No more discomfort in her earthly body. She is forever whole in body. Jackie is running, jumping, laughing, and frolicking her 'eternal reward' with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, grandma, and many other family and friends who met her there. I love you, sweet girl! Wanan loves you and I will miss you until we see each other again. Love, Wanda, Rebekah, Rachael, and Breanna.

I first met Jackie when she was 21 years old, and was honored that she and her family allowed me to a part of their journey with her. Jackie was born to be forever young, innocent and vulnerable, and I thought of her often and tried to help in what ways I could as she fought so many challenges, but how lucky she was to have such caring parents. I remember so many of the office visits, emails and telephone calls with Jackie and her mother over the past 17 years and I know two things for certain: Jackie was THE reason I came to work in Everett, and Jackie has the best mother ever. Grief is a measure of love and neither end. They are the same path to Eternity. I will never forget her and I wish her and her family peace.

I'd like to offer my condolences. It can't be easy what you're going through, but the Bible has many verses that can comfort you. And this doesn't surprise us: “For all the things that were written beforehand were written for our instruction,f so that through our endurance and through the comfort from the Scriptures we might have hope”. (Romans 15:4).
Look at the encouraging words the Bible gives us: “Jehovah is close to the brokenhearted;
He saves those who are crushed in spirit.
Many are the hardships of the righteous one,
But Jehovah rescues him from them all”. (Psalms 34:18,19).
God is with us especially when we are sad and encourages us through his Word.
