Jill Suzanne Mullins passed away unexpectedly on March 6, 2025 at the age of 71. A survivor of colorectal and skin cancers, she had recently been fighting and beating lung cancer with the love and support of her husband of 41 years, Mark.
Jill was born August 31, 1953 in Bellingham, WA to Jack and Marilyn (Reese) Wegley. She spent much of her youth on her grandparents’ dairy farm and regaled the family with tales of a little blonde girl herding cows, swimming in the Stillaguamish River, or playing pranks on her younger brothers. The oldest of four, she graduated from Cascade High School in 1971 and Washington State University in 1975, a proud sister of Alpha Phi and Cougar in a family of Huskies. She met the love of her life Mark in 1981 while working at Fluke. They married on August 27, 1983 and welcomed twin sons Peter and Andrew in 1985.
No one was a stranger to her, with her legendary storytelling and ear for listening, which served her well when giving advice to friends, selling high-tech products she only vaguely understood at the Fluke tradeshow booth, or volunteering at the Providence Everett Gift Shop. She loved the Beach Boys and shoes, hosting big family parties, thrifting, and exercise classes. An accomplished world traveler, she lived three years in England and never hesitated to jump on a plane to visit friends and family. But more than anything, Jill was a devoted mother and doting Nene to her five grandchildren and built her world around loving her family.
She is mourned by her husband Mark, sons Peter (Elizabeth) and Andrew (Hillary); grandchildren Josie, Jane, Deacon, Royal, and Elie; mother Marilyn Wegley; brothers Roger (LeAnn), Steven (Leslie), and Reese (Tracy); dozens of dear friends around the world and hundreds more that she became friends with after just a few minutes.
A celebration of Jill’s life will be held on Sunday, March 30th at 11:00 a.m. at the Mill Creek Country Club, 15500 Country Club Drive, Mill Creek, WA 98012. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the Alpha Phi Foundation or the OC Westie Rescue.
