Passed away surrounded by his loving family on February 7, 2015 James was born in New Jersey on February 11, 1934. He was one of two children, his family moved to Washington State where he was raised and he eventually graduated from Bothell High School in 1953. He joined the Navy to serve his country in 1955 and was stationed in the Philippines. Later in life he became part of the meat purveyors industry which he made his life long career over the course of more than 40 years.
The highlight of James life was meeting his beloved Norma Jean whom he later married. Together they built their dream home where they spent many days enjoying their animals and wild ducks. Their home became a gathering place for entertaining their family and friends whom they kept dear to their hearts. They also took many trips together with Cabo being a favorite, and they visited Reno, Nevada more than a few times. Every Friday, James and his good friend Gary would meet to play pool and drink beer, even up to the last days-he lived life to the fullest. Jim was a proud member of the American Legion in Arlington and had quite a sweet tooth, especially loving Tootsie Pops.
He is previously deceased by his parents and only Brother John and his son, David. He leaves behind his beloved wife Norma Jean Stjern, daughter Renee Gage (Dave), son Jeff Stjern (Janice), 3 grandsons and one great grandson. He is also survived by his daughter Christine and granddaughter Susie.
Donations can be made to the angels at Providence Hospice of Snohomish as they were a tremendous help during the last days of James’ life.
