Kelly Dean Martinez

Kelly Dean Martinez, 63, of Everett WA, surrounded by loving family, died on April 15, 2022, at home after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born Feb 4, 1959, in Ogden, Utah, to Pete and Marilyn Martinez.

Kelly married Rose Warren in Roy, UT, Feb 24, 1982. They were later divorced.

He loved to spend time with his family more than anything else. He would often spend his nights with his brothers playing Texas Hold’em, using his famous move: “Kelly, no peek.” He loved music and art, sharing his knowledge with his grandchildren and anyone who would listen. Kelly loved to be outdoors, constantly exploring, fishing, camping and of course playing disc golf with his kids, always working on his tan. We will always remember his love of life and laughter. If you wanted to “part-aaay” and have a great time, you had to invite Kelly.

He is survived by 4 children: Jessica Sabo, Candice Hinds (Josh), Caprice Thomas (Derek), Nigel Martinez (Serena), 6 grandchildren: Dexter, Hunter, Amaya, Oliver, Gage, and Louis, and 4 brothers: Jim (Lisa), Jerry (Lora), Craig (Lisa), and Steve (Sandra) as well as many nieces and nephews.

Kelly was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Marilyn, his in-laws who loved him as a son, Louis and Nancy Sabo, and older brothers Richard and Douglas.
