Kenneth M. Vereb, age 78 passed away December 7th at Harborview Medical Center from injuries that he sustained in an automobile accident on November 24th on Camano Island. Ken was born and went to school in Roslyn, Washington. He joined the army when he completed high school and returned to graduate from Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Washington. Ken worked for the Department of Corrections, Probation and Parole in Seattle, until he joined the Kind county Prosecutors office where he remained until he retired, doing investigative pre-sentence reports for that office. Starting with the Seattle Rainier’s, Ken was a true baseball fan and he and his friends supported the Mariners from their beginning. He looked forward to spring training every year in Arizona and he had friends from all over the country that would join him there. Ken was very proud of his Croatian heritage and he was a member of the Roslyn-Ronald Heritage Club since the club’s inception. Ken is survived by his brothers Mick (Nina) and Ger and his step-father Arden Bloom. He was preceded in death by his mother Darlene (Kauzlarich) Bloom and father Frank Vereb. To Ken's friends...he was laid to rest yesterday on his 80th birthday. When we arrived at Evergreen, there was the most beautiful flower arrangement from his Arizona friends with a baseball ornament. That was very emotional for us but in a good way. Thank you so much. For those who may have thought that Kenny didn't have a full life, they didn't know his large group of friends. We know how you stood by him, even these last years when things were getting so difficult for him. You are all the best ever! We believe that it was God's will for Ken to be taken from us now. He was buried with his Mom and we know that she was there to greet him.

Miss you Kenny. Will always remember our time at the PAO. I still have a note you wrote me 18 years ago. It was so beautifully written from a guy with the biggest heart. Rest peacefully my friend.

Kenny was the best. I am so saddened to hear of his passing. He brought laughter and terrible penmanship into our workplace. Rest well, my dear friend.
