Kurt Ernest Schmidt

Kurt Ernest Schmidt, born on November 15, 1957, in Everett, Washington, passed away on February 6, 2025, at the age of 67.

He was the youngest child of Ernest RG Schmidt and Sally Jo Schmidt, both of whom predeceased him. Kurt was a beloved brother, son, and friend, known for his generous spirit and thoughtful nature, and an infectious sense of humor that brought laughter to everyone around him. Whether it was through quick wit or playful banter, Kurt had an incredible ability to make those around him smile, and his humor was one of the many things that made him unforgettable. He is deeply missed by all who knew him.

A graduate of Marysville High School, Kurt spent the majority of his life in the Everett area, where he was known for his kindness and generosity. He touched the lives of many, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.

Kurt proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1982 to 1985, an experience that shaped much of his life. After his service, he worked as a meat cutter at local stores, including most recently at QFC, where he continued until his retirement a few years ago. He was dedicated to his work and was respected by his colleagues and customers alike.

Kurt had a deep love for his dog, Wyatt, who was a cherished companion and friend. Their bond brought him much joy, and Wyatt was always by his side, providing comfort and companionship.

Kurt is survived by his two sisters, Susan Ferguson (husband Michael), and Toni Pearce (husband Dan), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Kurt’s family was central to his life, and his bonds with them were treasured.

Kurt will be remembered for his loving heart, strong sense of family, warm presence, and infectious laughter. He will be missed by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to call him their own.

Cremation arrangements are under the care of Evergreen Funeral Home. While no funeral services are planned at this time, a memorial service may be arranged in the future.
