

Laura Masera was born April 03, 1930. Her parents were immigrants from Parma Italy. She had two sisters Margaret and Gloria. Laura was born in New York City and lived in Italy for 6 years. She came to America by boat. Her parents came through Ellis Island New York. She lived part of her life in Manhattan on 59th street with her father and two sisters. Her mother died when she was 17 years old.
Laura went to business school to be a secretary. She worked for the Lighthouse in Manhattan for many years. Laura married Gino Cavazzini on February 21, 1954. They were introduced by their two best friends in an Italian club in Manhattan. They lived in Manhattan and then moved to Whitestone Queens in 1956 and lived there until 1993. Gino and Laura Cavazzini have three children Joseph Cavazzini, Gina Gemelli, and John Cavazzini. She also has three grandchildren Anthony Cavazzini, Christopher Gemelli, and Gianna Gemelli. She has a son in law Gene Gemelli. Laura also has 4 nephews and 3 nieces. Laura and Gino in 1993 decided to move to Mill Creek Washington to be near her grandson Anthony Cavazzini and her son Joseph. She lived in Mill Creek until January 09, 2016.
Laura spoke two languages English and Italian. She loved to cook, knit, and read. She also loved opera. Her favorite singer was Luciano Pavarotti. She also loved to do charity work. She did a lot work for her sons and daughters grade schools and high schools. She used to do a lot of work for the Xaverian Society which helped the poor older people and children who immigrated from Europe. She also helped out the Leukemia society and Catholic Church.
She was a loving wife and mother and grandmother. Her family came first and she was the backbone of the Cavazzini family. She thought of the family needs before her own.
She lived in hospice home from January 09, 2016 until she past away on January 23 , 2016 at 12:01 AM. She will greatly missed by her family and friends.
