He was truly the most respected man I've ever known. Grampa had a neverending love of learning, which he passed down as just one of his many legacies. I think my favorite quirk of his was that he chose to be non-conformative: Darcy Olp and I went with him to a beekeeper meeting in a Seattle government building, and they forgot to unlock the doors. We were late, as usual :), and rather than miss it he picked the lock to get us in! We were laughing so hard along with other late meeting attenders grateful to be let in! I'll never forget Mt. Sauk, 10k walks (& runs!) all around WA, rebuilding the Rockport house (the hidden doors in the wall!), CPR classes, Chinese cooking, gymnastics every Saturday in downtown Seattle at the Heck Ed Pavilion & then the US Bookstore, & so on & so on. I will never stop loving you!! I miss you every day.

Lyle, you were and always will be my hero. I was so very fortunate to have over twenty years with you in my life. I am eternally grateful I took the opportunity to tell you how much you meant to me. You stood by me through a great deal, through my triumphs and my failures, always with words of understanding and encouragement. Your smile always reminded me that everything will be ‘ok' and your laughter helped me pause and realize what is really important.

As things changed over the last couple of years, I missed you a great deal. But know that I will always carry you with me, everyday, in all that I do.

I love you Lyle.

To all my family. I was so sorry to hear of Lyle's passing! Lyle had a productive career, wonderful wife (Delores, who I love dearly) and his children and grandchildren that he loved and they will miss him tremendously and we all will! Lyle was respected by our family and loved by everyone! May the Lord comfort your hearts and bring His peace to your souls my cousins! Cousin Larry

Those we Love remain with us, for love itself lives on. Cherished memories never fade because one loved is gone. Lyle will never be, more than a thought apart, for as long as there's a memory, he will live on in our hearts. God Bless you Delores & your wonderful children & family.
