Loretta H. Jackson, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2025, at her home in Mukilteo, Washington, surrounded by her loving family. She was 92 years old.
Born on September 29, 1933, in Louisville, Kentucky, Loretta's life was filled with adventure. Raised in a military family, she graduated from Karri American High School in Germany in 1951. Her quest for knowledge and excellence led her to earn an Associate of Arts degree with a perfect 4.0 GPA from Everett Community College in Washington.
Loretta was the beloved owner of Loretta’s Gift Shop located in Larry’s Pharmacy in Mukilteo,. A dedicated public servant, she made her mark on the community as a Mukilteo City Council member from 1984 to 1992, serving as Mayor Pro Temp in 1991. Her warm spirit extended beyond politics, as President of the Officers’ Wives Club in Heidelberg, Germany, from 1967 to 1968 while accompanying her husband in the U.S. Army. Known for her entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to her community, she touched the lives of many through her businesses and public service. Her legacy of kindness and dedication will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Loretta was a pioneer in her community. Her contributions to the city were immense, reflecting her deep love for her hometown. However, her greatest joys in life were always her family. She was a devoted mother and later became a cherished grandmother and great-grandmother.
Loretta embraced life with passion. She loved to dance, cook, decorate, and entertain, making her holiday gatherings a highlight for family, friends, and neighbors—ensuring all were welcomed with open arms.
Loretta’s adventurous spirit took her around the globe, but her heart always found its way back to her family. Her legacy of love, kindness, and community service will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her Husband LtCol John H. Jackson 1972, Mother Loretta Keller Dopp, Father Jack Stenson and Leo Dopp adopted father. She leaves behind her 3 Sons: Blake, John, and Joe and his wife Mary. Granddaughter, Lindsay & Mike Stone, and 3 Great grandchildren: Jaydon, Easton and Bently Stone and her husband, Jonathan Bolduan
