Luigi "Louie" Micheli passed away on January 11, 2026, at the age of 91. He was a resident of Everett, Washington.
Luigi was born on October 30, 1934, to Giovanni and Marina Micheli in Capannori, Lucca, Italy. He lived in the family home at Via dei Babbi, helping his parents and grandparents run their large family farm. Luigi’s early years during World War II were difficult with his father Giovanni drafted in the Italian army and the German occupation of their family home. He attended high school in nearby Pescia, studying agriculture and farming.
The Micheli family immigrated to Seattle in 1956, bought their first home on Massachusetts street, and attended Our Lady of Mt. Virgin church. Encouraged by his mother Marina to continue with his education, Luigi attended Seattle University where he received his bachelor’s degree in history and education.
One night at a high school party on Beacon Hill, Luigi met the love of his life, Linda Lombardo. He asked her to dance and she said no, but Luigi was not one to give up that easily. They were married in 1962 and eventually made their home in Magnolia where they lived 45 years. Luigi worked as a Lead Parts Inspector at Boeing, and then as a life insurance sales associate at American National Insurance Company. Luigi was an accomplished sales associate who was frequently recognized, both at the state and national level, for his customer service and sales ability. In retirement, he taught elementary, middle, and high school as a substitute teacher in Seattle School District. Louie and Linda moved to Everett, Washington in 2011 to be close to their grandson Paul.
Luigi and Linda traveled all over the world, visiting a total of twenty-nine countries. They frequently entertained family and friends at large family gatherings, especially at Thanksgiving and Easter. Luigi had great appreciation for sharing a well-cooked Italian meal, a glass of Chianti and lively conversation at the family table. He enjoyed cooking, working long hours in his garden, cultivating vegetables, herbs, and fruit trees. He took immense pride in his tomatoes, making hundreds of jars of tomato sauce every year. He grew roses and tulips only because Linda loved them. He was intellectually curious and loved to read non-fiction, especially European history, religion, and philosophy. He had a very dry sense of humor and a profound sense of comedic timing.
We remember Luigi most for his love and care for his wife Linda, his devotion as a father and grandfather, his candid personality, and his enthusiasm for life. Luigi was preceded in death by his wife Linda Micheli. He is survived by his daughter Lisa Micheli, son-in-law Stephen LeDoux, grandson Paul LeDoux, sisters, Pasquina Semrau, Giovanna O’Callaghan (Jim), Attilia Tolomei (Frank), his brother Marino Micheli (Susan), brother-in-law Joseph Lombardo, nine nieces and nephews and family members and friends in Washington, California, and Italy.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
To everything there is a season and
a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born and a time to die,
A time to plant and
a time to pluck up that which is planted,
A time to kill and a time to heal,
A time to break down and a time to build up,
A time to weep and a time to laugh,
A time to mourn and a time to dance,
A time to cast away stones and
a time to gather stones together,
A time to embrace and
a time to refrain from embracing,
A time to get and a time to lose,
A time to keep and a time to cast away,
A time to rend and a time to sew,
A time to keep silent and a time to speak,
A time to love and a time to hate,
A time of war and a time of peace.
