Margriet Frances Wilkinson, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, peacefully passed away on January 6, 2025, at the age of 95.
Born on October 23, 1929, to Arie Van Winkle and Margien Matter, Margriet embodied grace, resilience, and love. She built a life filled with cherished memories, strong family bonds and unwavering faith.
Margriet was preceded in death by her loving husband, Royce Wilkinson; her daughter, Genise; her son, Gary; and her brother, Art Van Winkle. She is survived by her son, Greg Mackenroth; her grandchildren Ashley, Alex, and Alicia; and her great-grandchildren Brooklyn, Greyson, and Hudson, who brought her endless joy and pride. She is also survived by her dear brother Don Van Winkle and his wife, Darlene, as well as Art's wife, Rita, who continues to honor his memory.
Margriet lived a full and vibrant life. She loved to bowl and was an active member of her local community, often volunteering her time. She had shared a charming piece of advice with her grandchildren: the secret to her long life was her love of peanut butter. Her warmth, humor, and zest for life were as inspiring as they were memorable.
A celebration of Margriet’s life will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Evergreen Funeral Home in Everett, WA. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the American Cancer Society, an organization Margriet dedicated so much of her time and care to.
Margriet will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and laughter that will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
Rest in peace, Margriet, as you reunite with Royce, Gary, Genise and Art in eternal light.
