

Maria Lindquist, age 81 of Everett, Washington passed away peacefully with family by her side on December 12, 2012.
Maria was born on December 02, 1931 in Fürth, Germany where she was raised by her grandmother, Therese Walter-Hirnickel, and mother, Babette Wilhelmine Hirnickel-Hofmann-Meixner.
Later, in Germany, she met and married Delbert R. Thueson, an American soldier, and together they had one daughter, Winnie. They traveled to the United States where Maria became a US citizen in 1955. Together they started a number of businesses, including several A&W restaurant franchises. They eventually settled in the Idaho Falls area where they later divorced.
Maria enjoyed being a home maker. She also worked as a hostess and then as a health food sales associate where she later met and married Carl Lindquist. In 2002, Maria moved to Everett, Washington to be with her granddaughter, Julie.
Maria loved spending time with friends and family and would freely give a hug. She enjoyed being around small children, reading, listening to music, and traveling.
Maria was preceded in death by her mother, Babette Meixner; sister, Ilse Holzknecht; brother, Manfred Hofmann; and father of her daughter, Delbert Thueson.
Maria leaves behind many loved ones: her daughter and son-in-law Winnie and John Welker, four grandchildren: Tammy Sorenson, Julie Peters, Jacob Welker, and Amanda Welker, and eight great-grandchildren: Domanic, Benjamin, Kaitlin, Shaelyn, Elexus, Jaydon, Alyra, and Danica.
In honor of her request, services will not be held. We will reflect on her life and our time together with happy smiles and good thoughts of memories past. Can’t wait to celebrate with you in heaven!
