It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Maricris Villanueva Aquino, born on February 20, 1971, left this world on April 16, 2025, with family by her side. Cris was more than a beloved wife, outstanding mother and daughter, she was the very heartbeat of our family.
Cris was the cherished daughter of Cecilio and Elsa Villanueva and a loving sister to Sally V Estoy. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family, as she was an exceptional educator with Maria Ulloa Elementary School.
In June 2007, she united in marriage with her husband, Florencio Aquino creating a life filled with joy, adventure, and cherished memories. Their bond was a testament to love, perseverance, and companionship. As a proud mother, Maricris devoted her every moment to nurturing and guiding her daughter, Abigail Aquino leaving a legacy of love, wisdom, and compassion that she will carry into her future.
A testament to her strength and resilience, Cris was a cancer survivor who faced her challenges with unwavering grace and courage. Her determination was further evident in her dedication as an educator for 29 remarkable years all at her alma mater, Maria A. Ulloa Elementary School. As she looked forward to retiring the next year, she envisioned a life filled with relaxing moments and continued adventures with her family.
Cris was very well known to prepare meals during family gatherings, renowned for being the "bestest" cook. The outside kitchen was the hub of warmth, literally in this humidity, seasonal delights, and lovingly cooked meals that brought everyone together, creating memories cherished by all.
As we come together to celebrate the life of Cris or Mrs. Aquino, who her students always shout out, we remember her laughter, her strength, her love for teaching, the quick witted responses she comes up with and the warmth she brought to every room. Her legacy lives on in every life she touched, in every lesson she taught, and in every meal she lovingly prepared.
She leaves behind a family that adored her, friends who cherished her, and a legacy that will continue to inspire. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit remains intertwined with our lives, reminding us to live with love, compassion, and joy.
Cris will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her husband, Florencio Aquino Jr., daughter Abigail Aquino. Her mother, Elsa O Villanueva. Her sister, Sally V and Ryan Estoy (R. Tovin and Alexis). The Aquino brother and sister in laws in the Philippines.
She now joins her father, Cecilio L. Villanueva Jr. Her mother in law, Salita R. Aquino, bro/sis in law: Ronaldo Aquino and Melba Aquino.
