Marilyn Jean Quincy, a lifelong resident of Everett, Washington, passed away peacefully on June 4,
2025, at the age of 81.
Born on March 4, 1944, Marilyn was the eldest child of George and Maydrew Davis. She grew up in
Everett alongside her beloved siblings—Georgina, Charles (deceased), and Mary—and attended local
schools before graduating from Everett High School.
Marilyn was a devoted and loving mother to her two sons, Anthony George Quincy and William James
Quincy. Her unwavering support, wisdom, and quiet strength were the foundation of her family.
A woman of deep curiosity and creativity, Marilyn enjoyed a variety of fulfilling hobbies throughout her
life. She loved fishing in the Pacific Northwest, nurturing her garden, and spending peaceful hours
searching for and collecting unique rocks. She was a talented jewelry maker and had a lifelong passion
for genealogy, carefully researching and preserving her family’s rich history. Her work as a family
historian helped ensure that the stories of generations past would continue to inspire future ones.
Marilyn was deeply rooted in her community and committed to preserving the legacy of Everett’s and
Snohomish County’s African American families. Her kindness, grace, and enduring faith left an indelible
mark on all who knew her.
Her memory will be cherished forever by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
