

Age 97, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2013. Born in Tacoma, WA on October 10, 1915, Marjorie attended schools in Puyallup, Seattle, and Everett before graduating from Lake Stevens High School, where she met her husband of 61 years; William W. Whitford. Married in 1937, Marge and Bill spent years during WWII in Victorville, CA. After the war, they returned to Everett where Bill built the home they would live in for 27 years. Marge returned to work after raising her sons as a secretary for Everett Schools and later for the County Extension 4-H Program. Marge and Bill enjoyed a long retirement, spending a lot of time camping in Eastern Washington. Marge is preceded in death by her husband; William, and by her sister; Doris Matzenauer. She is survived by her brother; James O. Matzenauer of California, and by sons; Robert W. (Lola) Whitford of Bow, WA and Wallace D. (Lorain) Whitford of Stanwood, WA. Marge also leaves behind seven grandchildren; Daniel (Sarah) Whitford, Dustin Whitford, Staci (Mark) Johnson, Tabitha Whitford, Matthew (Wellkham) Benedict, Angelique (Gerrard) Ashton, Jesse (Elizabeth) Whitford and by nine great grandchildren; Alex, Hannah, Molly, Justine, Zachariah, Amaya, Cole, Norah, and Kara. A Graveside Service will be held at Evergreen Funeral Home & Cemetery, 4504 Broadway in Everett, on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 1:00pm with fellowship to follow in Evergreen’s Hospitality Room.
