Nov. 3, 1937-Oct. 10, 2012
Our beautiful mother, sister, and grandmother, Marlene Y. Dahlgren, was called home into the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 10, 2012.
Our deep grief is softened by knowing she has been greeted in heaven by her mother, Merle Sweum, her son, Daniel Roy Dahlgren and her brother Bob Barnes.
She leaves behind her sisters, Jean (Larry) Helaas and Bernice Trujeque; her daughter, Linda (Brian) Ramberg; and her son, Evan (Dawna) Dahlgren; her granddaughters, Danielle Dahlgren and Becca Ramberg; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Mom lived her life making friends in the many places she lived, worked, and traveled. She had an amazing ability to talk to anyone, anywhere, because she was fascinated by, and loved people.
She worked as a well respected payroll director for the Lake Stevens and Cashmere school districts, Arctic King Fisheries, and before her retirement, the Seattle Space Needle.
After retiring she gave her heart, for a time, to counseling others who had lost loved ones through Families and Friends of Violent Crime Victims. She became an accomplished seamstress and quilter, enjoyed traveling, spoiling her precious grand-daughters, and reigning supreme as Queen Bee with her Red-Hatter girlfriends.
The love her family and friends showered on her throughout her courageous health battles was a beautiful reflection of her love and devotion to us. She will be deeply missed.
Private viewing and graveside services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery. Memorial services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, October 15, 2012 at Calvary Lutheran Church, 2532 Rockefeller Avenue in Everett, WA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Families and Friends of Violent Crime Victims or the Amercian Cancer Society .
