Mary passed away peacefully on January 25, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

The youngest of four children, Mary was born to John and Tilly Anderson on December 23, 1932, in Oberon, North Dakota. She was raised in Minnewaukan, ND, where she spent her early years before moving to Seattle to live with her Aunt Jetta. On November 21, 1951, she married Stephen Beck, beginning a devoted marriage and lifelong partnership.

Mary and Steve made their home in Everett, Washington, where they raised their four children. Mary was a dedicated and hardworking woman who spent many years with B & M Grocery (later Olson's Grocery), followed by 13 years working alongside Dr. Werlich and Dr. Kulits in an orthodontic office.

Her faith and community were central to her life. Mary dearly loved her church family at Central Lutheran Church of Everett and was actively involved with the Sons of Norway, Normanna Hall, and Lake Riley. She had a generous spirit and volunteered wherever there was a need. She was known for her Scandinavian baking, with her specialty being rosettes.

Mary is survived by her four children: Greg (Jill), Scott (Jamie), Laurie, Chris (Nicole), and her beloved cat, Biskin. She was a proud and loving Nana to eight grandchildren—Jeremy (Bonnie), Amber (Trevor), Katy, Travis (Amber), Bailey (Matt), Hannah (Leo), Riley, and Stephenie—and a joyful great-grandmother to five great-grandchildren: Henry, Lincoln, Noah, Cole, and Kayden. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate caregivers who supported Mary in her final year, including the staff at Connect Home Companions, GenCare Lifestyle Granite Falls and St. Thaddeus Care Home in Lake Stevens—we truly couldn’t have done it without you.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dementia Research, Central Lutheran Church, the Normanna Scholarship Fund, or the charity of your choice.

A celebration of Mary’s life will be held at Central Lutheran Church in Everett, on March 21, 2026 at 11:00 a.m.
