Mary Anne (Nyhus) Ensman

Mary Anne (Nyhus) Hudson was born April 28, 1944 in Bremerton, WA. She has passed away at age 76 on April 22, 2021 of gallbladder complications.

She was married to Frederick Emil Ensman June 12, 1965 in Ferndale, WA. She is survived by her three children, Frederick Thomas Ensman, Anne Marie Sigrid Russell, William Norman Ensman, and her five grandchildren.

She earned her Bachelor’s degree in English Education in 1967, and started working as an Elementary School Teacher in the Vancouver School District, in Vancouver WA. In 1969 she moved to Columbia River High School as the head librarian, and achieved her Masters Degree in Library Sciences in 1980. She started living between Vancouver, WA, and Hansville WA between 1984 and 1992 and when she retired from Columbia River High School she moved to Hansville, WA permanently.

She then moved to Santa Cruz, CA to care for her relatives from 1994-2000. For the next 27 years she lived between Santa Cruz and Hansville, where she shared her love of teaching by being a substitute teacher in the North Kitsap School District, until her death. She will be missed.
