Michael Walter Rann, age 63, of Marysville, Washington passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2022. Michael was born October 5, 1958 in Vancouver, Washington to Loretta and Donald Rann. He attended Liser Elementary School and McLoughlin Junior High in Vancouver, WA before moving to Bellevue, Washington where he attended Ringdall Junior High and graduated from Newport High School in June 1977. After graduating High School he attended Washington State University and graduated in June, 1981 with a Communications Degree.
Mike played Little League baseball in his early school years. He was in Boy Scouts which he excelled in and earned Eagle Scout in March of 1974. He was part of the wrestling team at Mcloughlin Junior High in 7th grade. While attending WSU in his college days he enjoyed playing Rugby and was also a member of the WSU Yacht Club. He later became a member of the Meyendendauer Bay Yacht Club where he enjoyed boating with his own 42 ft. Bayliner Cruiser. He named his boat “Fantasea” and said he was living his Dream. He worked in Alaska, at Trident Seafoods, every summer during his college years and then continued working at the canneries as a machinist for many years after that.
Mike’s love of motorcycles came later, after he sold his boat. He spent time riding his bike with his friends on many road trips and outings such as the Teddy Bear Run and Oyster Run. He even went to school to learn motorcycle mechanics and enjoyed working on his and his friends bikes. Many memories were made.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves behind his sister, Deborah Rann Doherty (Debbie), brother-in-law John Doherty, of Olympia, Washington. Nieces, Katlin Jorgensen and Molly Doherty. He also leaves behind his former spouse, Dawn Rann, Step-Daughter, Tezra Amelco (son-in-law Jorge), Step-Daughter, Leandra Mendy, and Step-Son Travis Hardy. Grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Amando, Lilliana, Destiny and Zaron Amelco and Kalea Mendy.
There aren’t enough words to describe the impact Mike had on his family and many friends. He was compassionate, loyal, hardworking, thoughtful and generous. His legacy will live on and he will be forever missed by those who knew him.
