Morri Montazeri passed away peacefully on June 4, 2022. He turned 71 years young on May 16. He was born at home in Isfahan, Iran next to a suitcase which explained his love for travel. His final wish was to see his Iranian family. Morri spent his last birthday with his brothers, sisters, and family in Armenia. Morri has 2 brothers, 2 half brothers, and 5 sisters who live in Iran. In 2016, Morri’s niece, Melika Mashali, came from Iran to live with the Montazeri family. She brought joy to his life and he thought of her as a second daughter.
He came to the United States in 1977 and graduated in 1981 from Oklahoma State with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He worked in various restaurant jobs and workshops to support himself and to pay for his tuitations. He did not like to owe anyone so he graduated debt free and a heart full of pride. He has been a role model to many. Morri met his wife, Cindy Montazeri in a carteira at Des Moines Area Community College in Iowa. He also grew very close to Cindy’s father who became Morri’s second father. From 1984 to 1989 he worked an engineering job and built a house in California. In 2016 he decided to retire early and travel the world. He went to Turkey, Paris, Armenia, Thailand, Las Vegas, Oklahoma, and various cruises.
Morri was a father, grandfather, husband, Boeing inventor, Engineer, Builder, handyman, and an impressive runner. He loved going to the Mukilteo YMCA. He was happiest dancing to Persian music with friends and family. When he loved, he loved with all his heart.
He lived with a condition called Progressive Supranuclear Palsy for the past 6 years. He was a very strong man that could overcome anything. He often told us that the words “I can’t” are not in my vocabulary. Unfortunately, it was impossible to overcome his illness. He always left a lasting impression on everyone he came in contact with. His willingness to help loved ones was unmatched.
He is survived by his Wife- Cindy Montazeri, Son-Ryan Montazeri, Daughter- Crystal Montazeri, Son in law- Patrick Kitcowski, Daughter in law- Brynn Montazeri, and Grandchildren- Matthew and Kaylie Knoll.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.Evergreen-FH.com for the Montazeri family.
