With great sadness Norman St. Denis, 92 of Everett, Washington, passed away Tuesday, June 17th, 2025. He was a man of great faith, fierce loyalty, deep integrity and was devoted to his family throughout his life.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, son of the late Ralph and Corinne (Ducharme) St. Denis, he lived in Everett, WA for over 50 years.
He worked many occupations throughout his life including owning his own tile business, ambulance driver, school bus and City of Seattle bus driver and many others before working for the Washington State Department of Transportation for over 20 years.
He was very involved with his community and the Knights of Columbus as well as several other organizations throughout the years, but especially with the Washington State Retired Public Employees Council. As the Chapter 6 President and representative for all his retired years he was committed to preserving the rights of retired Washington State employees.
He was a Korean War veteran in the US Navy and was very proud of his service to his country. He loved to cook, bake and was a master at outdoor grilling. He was also a diehard Seattle and Boston sports fan and an avid golfer for many years. He played many sports while growing up and especially loved playing baseball. He even umpired for local leagues in the Everett area during many summers in the 1970’s. He absolutely loved the sea, being out on the water and especially enjoyed fishing with his son and father-in-law. He and his wife Gloria made many trips boating around Puget Sound and the local islands in their boat ‘Sundowner’. He and Gloria also spent many years traveling the globe after his retirement. They especially enjoyed several cruises together to the Caribbean, Europe and Mexico. He was a huge car enthusiast and cherished his beloved 1953 Corvette, which he owned for several years in the 1950’s. What he loved most was spending time with his cherished family and friends.
He leaves his beloved wife Gloria St. Denis of 67 years who was truly the love of his life. They were just shy of celebrating their 68th Wedding Anniversary on June 22nd, 2025.
He also leaves a son, Gene St. Denis; Gene’s Stepdaughters Chelsea Bumgarner (husband Nick and son Jax), Courtney Johansen; and a daughter Denise Glasscock (husband Lloyd). As well as several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, July 3rd at 11:00am at the Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church at 2501 Hoyt Avenue, Everett WA 98201 with reception to follow at Mattie Hall, adjacent to the church.
