Patricia finished her journey faithfully on Friday, September 18, 2026, with her family at her bedside. She devoted her life to serving God and caring for her family.
Mom was born in Everett on September 19, 1937, to her parents, Albert and Ruby (Rugwell) Bakker. The family later moved to Whidbey Island where she attended schools in Langley.
She was an accomplished seamstress, baker and cook. She was the Grand Champion at several Island County Fairs. Clothes she made for others had tags that read, “Creations for you by Patty Lou.” The Little League kids on her son’s team still reminisce about her maple bars and peanut butter corn flake clusters. She traveled and camped with her family, including two epic car trips to visit family in Amarillo, Texas.
Best of all she is our mom.
She was preceded in death by her son Andrew (Andy), her parents, and her siblings Barbara, Albert, Kathleen, Homer, John, Andrew and Andrew’s unnamed twin sister.
She is survived by her sons Jim (Lauri), Dale and Tarry (Jessica), her six grandchildren (AJ, Michael, Paul, Cory, Chandler and Julian), great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4504 Broadway, Everett, WA 98203, US, on September 25, 2026, at 1:00 pm, with a Graveside Service following at at Evergreen Cemetery, 4504 Broadway, Everett, WA 98203. Reception following at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4504 Broadway, Everett, WA 98203, US, on September 25, 2026, from 2:15 pm to 4:30 pm.
