Mom was born to Robert and Beatrice Holyoke and raised in Everett. She graduated from EHS in 1943 ½ and received her nursing degree from Everett General Hospital School of Nursing in 1946. She worked at the hospital until her marriage to Carey (Bill) Raymond in 1947. After her husband’s untimely passing in 1969, she went to work as an RN at Crista Ministries and retired in 1989 to Camano Island.
Faith in God and church involvement were her cornerstone. She was a longtime member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Everett and Camano Chapel. She also was an avid reader, loved beach walks, crafting and did the daily crossword puzzle in the Everett Herald.
She quietly, with strong purpose and love, raised her family. Mom leaves behind her 6 children and spouses: Nancy and Dan Cummings, Sharon and Tom Curd, Barb and Chuck Johnston, Rob and Cheryl Raymond, Ed and Cara Raymond, Ken and Tracy Raymond. She also leaves 13 grandchildren: Jennifer, Mike, Ryan, Annemarie, Carston, Tierre, Jeremy, Carly, Emily, Christopher, Jessica, Kim and Brian and 4 (almost 5) great grandchildren: Peyton, Lane, Georgia and Noah. We all loved her so much and will miss her!
We want to especially thank Dr. Clawson and Dr. Savage at the Everett Clinic and the staff at Alpha Hospice for the wonderful care they gave Mom so she could stay at home until the end.
Should friends desire, memorials can be made to Westminster Pres. Church or Camano Chapel.
A private family graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 25, 2023.
