Paul Kniest passed away peacefully on September 2, 2019. He was born May 16, 1960 in Everett, WA, the seventh of nine children. Paul grew up in Edmonds, WA, and graduated from Edmonds High School, class of 1979. He was the loving husband of Nancy Stuchell Kniest and father of Marissa (Mark) Jagnow, Zachary, Lianne and Haley. He is also survived by a large extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Sally and sister, Allison Kniest. Paul worked for the Edgemont and Neptune Theaters while they were owned by his family but most of his working career was spent at Brien Motors. Paul showed his love of sports and kids by coaching youth club basketball and baseball and later served on the Boys & Girls Club board. He was a Camp Fire leader and coach for his two younger daughters. He was also known as the popcorn guy at Mukilteo Elementary. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where he enjoyed being an usher. Paul's main passion in life was his family but he also loved sports, cars, Elvis, Babe Ruth, movies and was a proud Patches Pal. All who knew him were instantly embraced by his love and bigger than life heart and personality. Paul made everyone laugh with his wit and amazing sense of humor. Strangers, friends or loved ones; he was able to put anyone at ease with his kindness and generosity. Paul wanted to thank Melody and all of his other healthcare providers for their compassionate work. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Everett First Presbyterian Church. Donations may be made in Paul's memory to Providence Hospice and Homecare or the Boys and Girls Club.
