Raymond Raul Tijerina was born on May 8th of 1946. He was born in Corpus Christi Texas. Raymond went home to be with our lord on October 8th of 2020. He is preceded in death by his father Apolito Tijerina, his mother Maria Tijerina and his son Ruben Tijerina. Family and friends will be remembering Raymond on Saturday October 17th 2020, at Evergreen funeral home in Everett Washington. Viewing will be from 4:00pm-8:00pm. Raymond was a humble and loving man. He had a loving and caring heart; he was willing to help anyone who was in need. He had a very large family with three sisters and one brother. Raymond grew up in Washington state and later on moved to California at the age of 15, he attended Yuba City High School. At the age of 23 he met Maria Carrasco and they were married, they moved to Washington shortly after where Raymond became a welder in 1971. Together they had a daughter Mersalinda Tijerina and he cared for Marias son Lusio Barajas as his own. Raymond has four more children Reyna, Ruben, Valentino and Nesticia. He has 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. In life Raymond loved to work on cars, rebuilding the motors and rebuilding the cars from the ground up. He was a journeyman welder for many years at Bendix, in Sedro Woolley WA. He also worked as a welder on fishing boats in Alaska. Raymond has also worked in several lumber yards and shipyards doing in his career as a welder. He had a great love for the outdoors, fishing and camping were his favorites but he loved being outside in the fresh air every day. Raymond was a proud Latino and Native American, he held pride in his last name.
