Robert "Bob" Ray Peterson

Bob passed away at the age of 93 surrounded by family, friends and the loving care of VA Hospice. He was born and raised in Everett, WA. by Albin Axil Peterson and Mary Celeste Peterson. Bobby shared a family home on Wetmore in Everett with his parents and five siblings until he graduated from EHS in 1945. After graduation, Bob enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in San Diego. He served his country proudly until Honorably Discharged June 1947 as a Apprentice First Class at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Bremerton. He attended Everett Community College for two years before starting his family.

Bob was a loving, devoted, hard working family man to first wife, Pat Brust, daughter Susie Schmidt (Bill), son Kip Peterson (deceased), wife Nancy Peterson (deceased), daughters Janet McDonald (Pat), Cheri Peterson, Verona Bosanko (deceased) and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He drove semi- truck for Foremost Foods Inc. in Everett for 30 years and won countless driver safety awards. After retirement, Bobby enjoyed working on projects and outdoor activities with family and friends and listening to Classic Country. He passed on his love for fishing, hunting, and boating, which is now enjoyed by all generations. Bob was a natural athlete and enjoyed all sports. He was a devoted Seattle Seahawks, Mariners and WSU Football fan.

In June 2019, Bobby was inducted into the Everett Community College Athletic Hall of Fame as third baseman for the 1948 Baseball Championship Team. Bob was the lone survivor of the team and cheered on by family and friends in attendance. The family fondly called him Bobby HOF (Hall of Fame). Bob was then awarded the WWII Victory medal for his wartime military service on March 14, 2021 at VFW Everett, making the Everett Herald front page. He was a proud member of VFW Monroe. Bob loved his country and the American Flag. During the ceremony, Marysville Mayor Jon Nehring declared March 14. “Bob Peterson Day” in Marysville. Bob will always be remembered for his big heart and even bigger smile.

A private gravesite ceremony will be held June 17, 2021. Family and friends are invited to Bob’s Celebration of Life from 1-4pm at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery Hall in Everett. In lieu of flowers, give generously to VA Hospice or your Veteran organization of choice.
