Robert Ernest Reef, age 87, of Everett, Washington passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024. Robert was born in Everett, Washington and lived as an Everett native. Resided at Washington Oakes Retirement community (he was known as the "Candyman"), This building is where he went to school in his younger days!
Robert was an avid hunter and fisherman and always dodged the game warden. He retired as a Longshoreman out of Local 32 in Everett as a pensioner.
Rumor has it that he got the nickname "Bobby" when he would fall in the water on the log boom and would 'bob' around in the water with his wooden leg.
Always gave a thought to give and not receive. He was always good for a short little old time song. I never met Frida his clam digging sweetheart, but he always sang about her.
He was always good for a good laugh at him or with him. The family use to go on vacations to Lopez Island and Robert would always look for Stumpy at the Hardware Store, he said that "He could take him".
Robert is survived by his wife, Janice; his four children: Son, Brian and wife Karen Reef; Son, 'Honest' Rick and wife Debbie Reef; Daughter, Lori Reef; Son, Jeff Reef; Grandkids: Nick and wife Lindsey Reef; Rebecca Bergstrom; Chris Reef; Alaina Reef; Elizabeth Colling; Brianna Reef; Quinn Reef; Great Grandkids: Mary Reef, Haley Reef , Megan Reef, Dylan Wyskiel, Braden Bergstrom and Ella Bergstrom.
Bobby requested that there be no memorial services at this time.

AFTERGLOW
I'd like the memory of me
To be a happy one.
I'd like to leave an afterglow
Of smiles
When life is done.
I'd like to leave an echo whispering
Softly down the ways.
Of happy times and laughing times
And bright sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve,
To dry before the sun
Of happy memories that I leave
When life is done.
