He married the love of his life Esperanza Manantan in 1977, and was committed to her in marriage for 45 wonderful years. Together they raised two children; Maryann, & Ryan (Cathy Leung-Manantan).
He is also survived by two grandchildren Milleina Ruiz and Aeja Jade Darrell along
with one furry grandchild, his Dotson mix dog, Oreo .
Romulo worked at Intel Corporation in chip fabrication & testing until he retired in 1997. He loved playing basketball with all of his cousins back in the Philippines. He could shoot from distance really well. If he played in the NBA today, he would be the perfect shooting guard. He also enjoyed all local Bay Area professional sport teams, San Francisco 49’ers, Giants, Golden State Warriors, and the home town team the San Jose Sharks. Romulo also enjoyed gardening, DIY projects, & his greatest prize possession his train set. Like his father Alejandro, Romulo always wanted the newest in technology. The perfect example is his movie theater. He purchased the first surround sound system for the VHS. Then upgraded to laser disks, DVD, Blu-ray, and now UHD-4K. He and Esperanza enjoyed having company over for family events.
Romulo was well liked by everyone he knew, and was strong in his Catholic Faith.
Romulo Ordono Manantan, 72, passed away peacefully on August 05, 2022 in Marysville, Washington.
His life was our blessing, and he shall never be forgotten.
