On Sunday, July 5th, at 2:45 AM, our beautiful mother, Rosemary Joan Niggli, went home to be with Jesus. While her journey with dementia was difficult, her final moments in Everett, Washington, were filled with peace, surrounded by the family who adored her and the wonderful caretakers who loved her like their own.
Rosemary’s story began in England, born to George Joseph & Violet Emily Stewart. As a young woman, she excelled in secretarial school and worked in the heart of downtown London for a law firm, but it was dance that truly changed her path. From the time she was a little girl, Rosemary fell in love with ballet and tap. She grew into a gifted dancer and teacher, even catching the attention of filmmakers who wanted to cast her in a movie for her grace and unique ability.
In 1965, she married Michael Edward Rouse and became a mother to Michelle and Lee. Though life eventually took her in a different direction, Rosemary's ultimate dream was to give her children the endless opportunities of America. In 1977, she bravely turned that dream into reality, packing up and moving to California to build a bright new future. Rosemary lived her life guided by her faith, her love for Jesus, and a fierce dedication to her family. In 1997, she moved to Washington state, continuing her journey alongside her family.
In 1999, Rosemary found love again and married Larry Niggli, happily shifting her focus to creating a warm, welcoming home. Rosemary lived her Christian faith out loud through her endless kindness. Her heart was especially massive when it came to animals; she spent her life rescuing, protecting, and showering love upon countless cats and dogs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry in 2021 and her son, Lee Stewart Rouse in 2015.
Rosemary's light shines on through those she leaves behind. She is survived by her daughter Michelle, her son-in-law Jason, and her beloved granddaughters Emma and Abbagail. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of strength, courage, and unconditional love.
Services are private and she will be buried next to her husband Larry at Evergreen Cemetery, Everett, Washington.
