Rostislav "Ross" E SHKURINSKIY

April 27, 1991April 19, 2021

Ross Shkurinskiy was born in Chervonohrad, Ukraine on April 27th 1991. He moved to Washington with his parents and grandmother in March 1996.

Throughout his childhood, Ross discovered a passion for reading and learning about anything he could get his hands on. He attended various elementary schools, Olympic View Middle School and graduated from Kamiak High School where he made lifelong friends. There he was known for just how genuinely smart and witty he was along with the sheer amount of facts he knew about everything. That knowledge led him to participate and compete at the state level in the Knowledge bowl.

About this same time he became involved in Northshore Church’s high school ministry. As a student he initiated meaningful conversations and sought to create and foster friendships and later as a leader he would be influential in the lives of students and other leaders as well.

Ross’s abilities led him to his career in IT, where he positively influenced those who at first might simply be co-workers but would later on become valued friends. His last job was at Salesforce where, in a shared vision, he found enjoyment in the atmosphere and community of the company as a whole.

Wherever Ross went he was sure to leave an impact in the communities in which he found himself. He had a deep love for others, showing dedication in his relationships and constantly seeking to improve the lives of everyone around him. He would personally sacrifice to put others into better circumstances.

Ross passed away on April 19th 2021, leaving behind his parents and brother, grandparents, and a number of close friends who all love him and deeply miss him.

I met Ross at work in Blueprint. I was actually in charge of him for a while and quickly became bonded to him. Ross clearly had a skill with people and was wise beyond his years. Ross ended up teaching me more than I could have ever taught him. We pushed each other further and further in work. Ross became a team lead and I became a trainer. We continued to love working together and when I left blueprint and moved to salesforce. I knew I needed Ross there with me. I immediately recommended him and without a doubt he got the job. We continued to work together and talk every week. I couldn’t have been happier that I had Ross by my side.

I don’t know if I would be where I am if not for Ross. He taught me what it meant to try hard in everything you do. To put your best foot forward and to always take the extra step in everything you do. Ross showed me a passion and friendship unlike one I’ve ever seen before. I will never forget him and his energy will live within me for the rest of my life. Ross was one of my best friends and I’m going to miss him.

I worked with Ross while at Blueprint. He had an ability to connect with anybody. He had a huge impact on the culture while working there and everyone knew him fondly. He was smart, witty, and above all he was kind of heart.

A mentor of mine one told me once, "Lift, While you Climb". Ross took a genuine interest in the lives of other people. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone that needed it. He himself strove himself to excellence, and brought out the best out of everyone around him. I could not think of anybody else who better embodies "Lift, While you Climb"

You will be missed, Ross.
See you later man.

I met Ross while he was working at Blueprint. He was our Team Lead for a while and he helped me through coming back to work after having my daughter Cecilia. It was a hard time for me leaving a baby at home and Ross listened and cared for me being well at work.
He always spoke greatly about his family and you could tell he was raised in a loving home.
We will miss him greatly.

Ross, I didn't know Ross well except through my husband Chris who worked with Ross in high school ministry. But I remember Ross always being the intellectual until the night he played kickball in our front yard. It was fun to see a different side of Ross that night. Stunned to learn of his passing. My heart goes out to the entire family. A horrific loss.

Ross was a very good brother to Paul. He will be forever remembered as we continue to live out our life here on earth and honor him in everything we do.
