Sarah Elizabeth Kasselman was born on October 17, 1978, in Seoul, Korea. She was adopted at 5 months old by Steve and Kathy Jensen, and brought home to live in Everett, Washington in 1979. Sarah left this Earth on September 28, 2026, survived by her parents, husband (Pete), children (Elizabeth & Sabrina), and sister (Jennifer Post) and family.
Sarah graduated from Everett High School in 1997. Lettering in soccer and crew, she made many lifelong friends with whom she stayed in touch with forever.
She reconnected with her next-door basketball friend Pete Kasselman in 2005 and they married in 2013, welcoming Elizabeth (2013) and soon after Sabrina (2015). 21 years of memories as a
couple and a lifetime of love.
To know Sarah was to know beauty, grace, kindness, and compassion. She was a true friend and always made time to care about how others were doing. Sarah loved with all her heart, and it
showed in everything she did. Everyone was welcome around Sarah, and her door was always open. She was honest, extremely funny, and had great taste in music. Sarah loved to dance and sing, often saying that
she missed her true calling of being an actress. Listening to live music was top on her list of things that brought her happiness.
Sarah was a natural leader and led by example. Her personality drew people in, and her true character kept bringing them back. Anyone could reach out to Sarah, and she would give them all of herself in return never asking for anything.
Sarah was an adventurer. She loved the outdoors, trying new activities, and finding new spots to make memories. Some of her favorites were hiking, walking, camping, and beach combing. She
spent many summers in Seaside, Oregon.
Sarah loved being on the water and would have spent her entire life on a boat if possible. The Snohomish River and Puget Sound were her favorites. In her youth, she spent time on the boat with her dad, learning how to operate and navigate the waters around where she lived. Any chance she would get, Sarah would jump on a boat just to be out on the water. She adored animals. Sometimes more than humans. Animals were drawn to her and wanted to be around her. Even if they weren’t her own animals, they would follow her within 5 minutes of meeting. Often her adventures were solo ones with only her dog as her sidekick. Her Cats (Lucy, Vinnie and Toby), Dogs (Rubi & Brandi), Hamsters (Lilly & Gus) and Guinea Pigs (Fred, Joe and Nibbles) were showered with love and care. Life was amazing if you were lucky enough to be one of Sarah's pets and they all knew it. Everyone could feel her bond with animals; it was pure.
She held a plethora of different jobs in her life, but found her true calling as a Registered Nurse. She graduated from Everett Community College Nursing program in 2010. During her 16 years
with the Everett Clinic, Sarah was a tireless advocate for any and all patients utilizing compassion, kindness, empathy, and grace. She dedicated her career to ensuring each person received the best care possible regardless of their situation or needs. Sarah always said that her greatest accomplishment in life was having her two daughters; Elizabeth and Sabrina. They made her smile every day. Any chance Sarah got, she would talk about how beautiful, smart, talented, and funny her daughters are. She marveled at how she
was part of their creation. Her leadership shaped who they are today and will guide them for the rest of their lives. They personify her best qualities, and she was so proud of who they have
already become.
We will miss you for eternity, Sarah. You were light. You were beauty. You were strength and understanding.
From all of us to you; WE LOVE YOU!!
