

Sheila Fordham Kohlert, age 92, passed on May 12, 2026.
As the children of Sheila Merle Fordham Kohlert, we are rejoicing with our mother as she is reunited with her husband and son. Sheila was born June 16, 1933 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Jess Lewis Fordham and Helen
Merle Kay Fordham. She attended schools in the Salt Lake area, graduated from Granite High School and attended the University of Utah for a short time.
She married her high school sweetheart, George Charles Kohlert, on June 28, 1952 and were sealed for eternity in the Salt Lake City temple on May 27, 1958. The first years of their marriage were spent living in southern California while George served in the U.S. Navy. When George's naval service was over, they moved back to Utah where they lived in a small house on her parents' land. After a short time in Salt Lake City, George, Sheila and their two young daughters moved to Lake Oswego, Oregon in 1958. Lake Oswego became their home for 29 years and here they raised their 5 children. They loved their live in Oregon, but after George retired, they moved to Everett, Washington to be near family.
Sheila was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served in many callings in the Primary and Relief Society. Her favorite calling was as a temple worker with the brides in the Portland Temple. She and George also served as missionaries in the Everett Washington Bishop's Storehouse Mission.
Our Mom loved serving others, family history, doing genealogy, sewing, oil painting, gardening,reading, walking, family vacations and wading in the ocean.
Sheila has now been reunited with those who have preceded her in death: her husband, George; her son, Ted Kohlert; her parents, Jess and Helen Fordham; and her sisters, Lynette, Eileen and Kay Patricia. She is survived by her children Douglas (Annette) Kohlert, Michele (David) Roberts, Jess (JoAnn) Kohlert, Kathleen Thompson and Deborah Kohlert, 29 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-child.
A visitation will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 11915 29th Ave SE, Everett, WA 98208, US, on June 2, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at the same location on June 2, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
