Steven Duane Thorsen passed away on December 22, 2013 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Steven was born on August 23, 1976 to John and Marlene Thorsen of Arlington, Washington. Steven graduated from Arlington High School in 1994 and shortly thereafter joined the United States Air Force. After honorably serving the Air Force for four years Steven worked for Rent-A-Center and Curry Custom Cabinets as he put himself through college. He received a bachelors degree in Molecular Biology from the University of Washington and also received an associates degree from Everett Community College. In 2008, Steven joined the United States Army, serving one tour in Iraq. Steven was an active duty Staff Sargent at the time of his passing. He was stationed at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs. Steven is survived by his wife; Kalisha Thorsen, daughters; Halle Brook Thorsen (age 9) and Dylan Avery Thorsen (20 months), and by stepson; Tyler James Ericson (age 16). Steven is also survived by his ex-wife; Abra Elizabeth Thorsen, by his father; John Clifton Thorsen, step-mother; Mary Zakova Thorsen, by his brother; John Michael Thorsen (Mike), by his grandparents; John Patrick Thorsen and Sylvia Bell Davis, and by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends. Steven is preceded in death by his mother; Marlene. A viewing will be held at Evergreen Funeral Home & Cemetery, 4504 Broadway in Everett, WA on Friday, January 3, 2013 from 6pm to 9pm and on January 4, 2013 at 11am. Stevens funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 4, at Evergreen Funeral Home & Cemetery, with services beginning at 12pm and interment to follow at 2pm.
