…who was born March 8th, 1948 in Everett, Washington to parents Frank and Ileen Willits, passed away at the age of 70, on October 31st, 2018, in the same hospital he was born in. After high school, Steve joined the United States Air Force, where he served his country for 24 years before retiring. Upon retiring from the Air Force, Steve moved on to fix RVs and Fifth Wheels (“garbage trucks”), for 15+ years.
In 1977, Steve married Wanda Hahn, and they enjoyed 37 years together, their time cut short only by her passing. Steve enjoyed riding motorcycles, time with family, coin collecting, traveling, and did we mention riding motorcycles. It can be safely assumed that Steve put over a million miles on 2 wheels.
Steve is preceded in death by his parents, his Brother Tom, and his wife Wanda. He is survived by his sons Dwayne and Brian; daughter Shellie; brothers Rick and Ron; six grandchildren (a seventh is on the way), and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00pm on Thursday, November 29th at Grace Lutheran Church, 8401 Holly Drive in Everett. An interment service with full Military Honors will be held at 1:00pm, on Friday, November 30th at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th St, Kent, where he will be laid to rest with his late wife. In lieu of flowers, the family would like friends to make a donation in his honor to the Diabetes Action Research and Education Foundation.
