Born on September 20, 1948, in Totolan Del Oro, Mexico, Lola married Felix Amador at the age of 17. They remained devoted to one another until his passing, just shy of their 50th wedding anniversary.
Lola was a mother and grandmother figure to everyone who knew her. Her door was always open, and her kitchen always smelled of freshly cooked beans and cinnamon tea. Everyone was welcome in Nina Lola’s kitchen and encouraged to sit and enjoy a meal.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Felix, and her daughter Letty. She is survived by her five children, Manuel, Maria Isabel, Sonia, Jose Guadalupe, and Felix Jr., as well as 16 adoring grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Lola will be remembered for her kind spirit, witty humor, and impeccable sense of style—always elevating her outfits with the perfect scarf. A devoted soccer fan, she loved cheering on her favorite teams, America and Mexico. Above all, she was a loving mother and grandmother who often sang to her grandkids, "I love you in the morning, I love you in the noon," and ended every evening call with, "Que sueñen con los angelitos." Mama, may you now sleep among angels.
