

He grew up in a large family and he was the sixth of nine brothers and sisters. He graduated from high school at Notre Dame of Cotabato. In college, he attended seminary for two years. He graduated college at Holy Cross College of Davao City. In the Philippines he worked as a credit investigator in a financial firm before immigrating to the United States.
He immigrated to the United States with his brothers and sisters in his early 20s and enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served in Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Avionics for 26 years. He served in Vandenberg Air Force Base, CA for 5 years, and Edwards AFB, CA for 5 years, Misawa AFB, Japan for 10 years and Aviano AFB, Italy for 6 years. His deployments included the Gulf War and the conflict in Kosovo.
He retired from active duty military in 2004 and moved to Everett, Washington where he continued to volunteer to help the military servicing in the local area. He was also active in the St. Mary Magdalene parish and Filipino community.
He was passionate about skiing with his family, windsurfing, swimming and camping. He traveled the world and enjoyed having family barbecues and telling jokes. His favorite card game was pusoy dos.
He is survived by his wife Cecile, his two sons, Jason and his fiancé Casey, Jonathan and his wife, Sarah and his grandson Connor.
He is also survived by his Mother Alma Viray age 95 and siblings: Noni Garcia and her husband June, Philippines, Tony Viray, Philippines, Ginny Basañes and her husband Raul, CA, Libeth Rallos and her husband Loloy, WA, Ching Viernes and her husband Edgar, CA, Carolyn Gaba and her husband Roland, CA, Alan Viray and his wife Pinky, WA, Berton Viray and his wife Jenny, CA and numerous sister-in-laws; brother-in-laws; loving nieces, nephews; and close friends.
