William James Carlton

We are sad to announce the passing of William Carlton of Stanwood, Washington. Bill passed away at the age of 89 at Providence Hospital with wife Eileen by his side.

Bill was born in Woonsocket, South Dakota in 1934. The family moved to Washington State in 1942. He attended Perpetual Help Catholic School and graduated from Everett High School in 1952. He married his High School Sweetheart, Eileen Begg, in 1953.

That same year, Bill started his career at United Airlines. He worked at United for 32 years rising through the ranks until achieving the position of Director of In-Flight Services while working in Washington, Colorado, Illinois, California, New York, and New Jersey. Bill and Eileen retired in Stanwood, Washington in 1998. Bill will be deeply missed by family and friends.

Bill is survived by his family: wife of 70 years, Eileen; sister Marjorie and husband Steve Zehrung; son Christopher, grandsons Zachary and Luke Carlton; son Curt, wife Amanda Carlton, granddaughter Caitlyn, husband Tanner Reinecke, great grandson Jack William, grandson Chase and wife Casey Carlton.

A Memorial Service for Bill will be held at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Stanwood, Washington on Friday, February 2nd, 2024 at 10:15 am.
