Yancy Alan Salenjus, 38, passed away unexpectedly at home on March 10, 2014. Yancy accomplished much in his short life, and was loved by all who knew him. He loved his family and friends with quiet passion. From an early age his athletic abilities became apparent. At age 10, he was National Freestyle Wrestling Champion. For the next years, he lettered and set many records in football, and baseball, several of which stand today. After high school, he graduated from Western Washington University. While undergoing chemo-therapy and working one job, he successfully pursued and became a Marysville Fire Fighter, which was his true passion. Knowing Yancy, you sensed his love of life, the outdoors, fly fishing, and the caring, honest, and humble man he was. He is preceded in death by his father; and all grandparents. Yancy is survived by his mother, Barbara and her husband, Bill; brothers, Shane, Steven, and Brady; and sister, Stacy; nephew, Kyle and niece, Megan.
A Celebration of Life is planned at a later date.
Arrangements under the direction of Evergreen Funeral Home, Everett, WA.
