

Albert 'Al' W. Mitchell 1922-2014, A native Californian, he was born August 13, 1922 in Sacramento, and passed away on April 14, 2014 at the age of 91, in Elk Grove CA.He was preceded in death by parents Clark Mitchell, Edna Lewis Mitchell Blinman and Foster Blinman; brother William Mitchell, and wife of 56 years, Ruth Mitchell.He is survived by children Colleen Latimer (Doug) of Redding, and R. Scott Mitchell (Lynne) of Sacramento, wife Violet DeBord, granddaughters Christine, Ronda and Michelle, great grandchildren Jocelynn, Gavin, Katherine, Alicia, and Sarah; great great grandchildren Gabriella, Isabella, Mileena and Jonathan; and brother Clifford Blinman.He graduated from Roseville Union High School, served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, and retired from the State Printing Plant.He loved to hunt, fish, golf, bowl, travel in his RV, and be with friends. He was always ready to help out family and friends whenever he could.He was a member of SIRS, Quality Travelers, US Bowling Congress, VASA Lodge (as an honorary Swede), Roseville High School reunion committee, CSEA, and others.Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life at Mount Vernon Memorial Park, 8201 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks, Saturday, April 19, at 11:00 a.m. Gathering to follow at 7245 Mariposa, Citrus Heights.
