Dearest family of Alice, Jon and I were so sad to hear of Alice's passing. What a lovely tribute you did, and I know that her life was made of so much more - it would take reels of film to tell that story. She was loving, smart, caring, feisty, devoted,, tenacious, resilient, loyal and oh so much more.  She touched so many lives in our community! When we started building our home in the neighborhood, I called Coleman School to get my son enrolled. Alice answered the phone, and although our kids would normally go to that school, it was impacted that year, but Alice told me to bring our oldest son to school anyway and she would take care of it. When I arrived, the secretary greeted me and said, "no, your son can't go to school here - he needs to go to Oakview".  I started crying because it had already been a bad weekend and this was a huge blow. Alice came rushing out of another office and asked what was the matter. When I introducted myself, she said "don't you worry, I will get Josh into his classroom here at Coleman." She promptly brough Dean Neeley (the Principal) out and talked to him and before I knew it, Josh was on his way to his classroom!  She did it with her wonderful influence and loving nature. After we moved into our home, Alice and I became neighbors and quick friends. When I returned to the workforce, she was always so good about watching out for our children, and they loved she and Bill too!   Alice was such a good influence on me as a young mother too - she got me involved in PTA - something I will never regret to this day. Jon and I attended their 50th wedding anniversary party and recall seeing the deep devotion and love between she and Bill. It was heavenly watching Bill glide her around the floor as though they were "kids" again - I hope that's what they are doing now. Rest in peace dearest Alice, you will always be in our hearts.
