CMSAF Andrew Howell, Jr. enlisted in the United States Air Force in his hometown of Idabel, Oklahoma as a very young man and through his many military deployments throughout Europe, the United States, and during the Vietnam War, he rose to the highest Non-commissioned Officer – Special rank of Chief Master Sergeant; retiring at Mather Air Force Base, Sacramento, California with over 30 years of service in the U.S. Air Force Security Forces – Military Police.
After military retirement, Andrew managed a large private security company before accepting a position in higher learning at Sacramento College and later became an Account Executive, finally going into full retirement. He loved Ohau, HI and spent extended stays at least two times a year. Prior to this illness, Andrew enjoyed walking as his exercise of choice. He would always get up, get dressed, and get out meeting up with a few friends and loved being with and around his family.
Andrew is survived by his two daughters, Lynda Howell, Esq. of North Carolina, Vivian Howell of California; two sisters, Barbara Moody of Idaho, Rubye Walker of California; Two granddaughters Tamieka Howell, M.D., of North Carolina, Pastor Danielle Howell-Morris of Arizona, three Great Grandchildren, a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends. He was preceded in death by his Son, Anthony Wayne Howell, Father, Andrew, Mother Gracie Mae Jones, Grandparents; great aunts and uncles; his brother, J. W. Howell and sisters, Lucy Mae Howell, Murlene Young and Bertha Lee Howell Young.
